Brewery celebrates throughout May with fundraisers and events across the country
LONGMONT, Colo. May 1, 2019– Left Hand Brewing Company, one of the original pioneers in craft brewing, is proud to announce it’s taking its support of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society (the Society) to the next level through a national sponsorship of Bike MS – the Society’s popular fundraising bike series. Since 2008, the brewery has been a major contributor to the Society through its Bike MS team, Team Left Hand, raising more than $3.8 million.
“Left Hand Brewing Company is a longtime valued partner of the National MS Society and we are thrilled to expand our relationship through this new national sponsorship,” said Stacy Mulder, vice president, Bike MS. “Team Left Hand has built a community of dedicated cyclists and volunteers who through, their participation in Bike MS, help raise awareness of the Society and our mission. We are grateful for their support which brings hope to the nearly one million people in the United States living with MS and we look forward to working with Left Hand Brewing Company in 2019 and beyond.”
From the Rose Bowl in Los Angeles to the boardwalk in Daytona Beach, Team Left Hand’s six regional fundraising teams of more than 600 riders and volunteers will participate in five Bike MSrides across the country in 2019. In 2018, Team Left Hand was the largest national fundraising team for Bike MS raising more than $730,000. The brewery also introduced Wheels Gose ’Round, a 4.4% ABV lemon peel and raspberry gose, brewed to raise awareness and funds for Bike MS, Team Left Hand and to support the National MS Society. Due to the beer’s overwhelming popularity and community support, Left Hand added Wheels Gose ’Round to its 2019 year-round beer lineup.
“We couldn’t be more proud of our long-term partnership with the National MS Society. Becoming a national sponsor was a natural extension of our ongoing support of the Society,” said Chris Lennert, Left Hand Brewing COO and Team Left Hand National Captain. “Our partnership also is a great source of pride for Left Hand employees, many of whom are active Team Left Hand riders and volunteers. We are dedicated to raising awareness for the cause and fundraising to help our friends and family who have the disease lead better lives.”
Throughout the month of May and culminating on World MS Day on Thursday, May 30, Left Hand has several fundraisers and events planned at partner accounts throughout the country. In addition, the brewery will be hosting fundraising opportunities in their Longmont, Colo. Tasting Room including donating $1 from every pint of Wheels Gose ’Round and $5 from every Flight for a Cause sold during the month of May. About Multiple Sclerosis – The National Multiple Sclerosis Society – Bike MS
Multiple sclerosis (MS) is an unpredictable and often disabling disease of the central nervous system that interrupts the flow of information within the brain, and between the brain and body. Most people with MS are diagnosed between the ages of 20 and 50, with three times more women than men being diagnosed with the disease. A new study, led by the Society, estimates nearly one million people in the United States live with MS, that’s more than double the previous number. The National Multiple Sclerosis Society exists so that people affected by MS can live their best lives. Through events like Bike MS, the largest fundraising cycling series in the world, the Society is able to fund groundbreaking MS research and life-changing programs to support people living with MS and their families.
