Team Florida (+ Carolinas!) – Ride Weekend Details

The time has come, the ride is here!! Now to make sure you’re ready…
Here’s all the important info you need in order to have an INCREDIBLE weekend riding to #crushMS 


  • So far we’ve raised an amazing $93,443 this year and are currently the number 2 fundraising team. Great work, but we’ve still got some work to do to hit our $125,000 goal for 2018. Let’s keep it up and watch those donations roll in!! PLEASE send another email or post again right before the ride weekend… you’ll be AMAZED by the response you get!
  • FAQ: What if I don’t meet the $250 minimum before the ride?
    • If you have not turned in the minimum donation by the start of the event, the National MS Society will discuss payment options with you, including charging the balance on a credit card.
  • Fundraising deadline: December 13th, 2018, so keep it up even after the ride!


  • Thursday 10/11 at Alewife – 1035 Park St | Jacksonville, FL 32204
    • 5:30pm – 7:30pm 
    • Grab your Team Left Hand jersey AND your MS Society rider packet
    • Load up on goodies from our sponsors like Nuun and Justin’s
    • Support our amazing sponsor, get to know your teammates and enjoy a Left Hand beverage (or two)!
    • Remember – all riders (other than registered Passport Riders) must have met the $250 fundraising minimum in order to pick up their rider packet. No exceptions. 
  • Friday 10/12 at Hampton Inn Ponte Vedra Beach – 1220 Marsh Landing Pwky | Jacksonville Beach, FL 32250
    • 3:00pm – 7:00pm 
    • Find Linda at the official Bike MS Packet Pick Up at the event host hotel
  • Saturday 10/13 at the TPC Sawgrass Starting Line – 5430 Palm Valley Rd | Ponte Vedra Beach, FL 32082
    • 6:30am – 8:00am
    • If you cannot make it to any of our prior jersey pick ups just look for SAG Mom Linda near the starting line (in the sea of Team Left Hand jerseys) to claim your Team Left Hand Jersey. You will also have to check in with the NMSS to claim your rider packet if you have not done so before Saturday morning. Note – it will be BUSY! Try to pick up your supplies in advance and if you are unable, plan to arrive with ample time on Saturday morning. 
  • Saturday 10/13 at the Marineland Starting Line – 9600 N Ocean Shore Blvd | Palm Coast, FL 32137
    • 7:00am – 8:30am 
    • Note, your rider packet will only be at Marineland if you registered to start at that location and did not pick it up in advance of ride day. 


  • Saturday 10/13:
    • High in the mid to upper 80s, low around 75
    • Scattered thunderstorms, especially in the morning (chance of rain – 60%)
    • Winds ESE at 10 to 15 mph
  • Sunday 10/14:
    • High in the mid to upper 80s, low around 75
    • Variable clouds with scattered thunderstorms (chance of rain – 50%)
    • Winds SE at 5 to 10 mph


  • Make sure you bring everything you need to have a safe, comfortable ride… don’t forget your:
    • Amazing 2018 TLH jersey
    • Helmet (you aren’t allowed to ride without one!)
    • Shoes
    • Cellphone
    • Water bottles
    • Sunglasses
    • Sunscreen
    • ID (for drinking beer at the finish line – you cannot drink without it!)
    • Medical Insurance Cards
    • Spare tires/fix a flat kit
    • Ziploc baggies (in case of rain)
    • Rain gear (weather dependent)
    • CASH to buy your 2018 TLH shirt and tip our amazing massage therapist in our Team Tent
    • LUAU WEAR! You read that right… We’re throwing a Luau this year, so dust off your coconut bra, grab your grass skirt & best tropical shirt and come prepared to hula with a beer in hand!



  • Kristen Hughes is once again volunteering to be our PERSONAL TEAM MASSAGE THERAPIST and we can’t thank her enough! Really y’all, she’s amazing
  • Just like years past, reserve your spot by making a $20 donation to Kristen’s fundraising page HERE
  • $20 for a 20 minute massage
  • Sign up for your time slot with our dedicated volunteer when you arrive in the team tent
    • Walk ups will be accepted until around 1:30pm, after which only pre-paid riders can sign up for available time slots. 
  • Limited to one 20-miunte sign up per rider per day – we want to make sure every who is interested has a chance to sign up. 
  • Funds raised for massages go directly to the MS Society, so riders are HIGHLY ENCOURAGED to tip handsomely!



  •  TPC Sawgrass – 5430 Palm Valley Rd | Ponte Vedra Beach, FL 32082 
    • Allow plenty of time to arrive, get parked and get ready to ride!
      • Parking lot opens at 5:00am
        • Enter the first parking lot entrance on the right off Palm Valley Road
      • Cyclist check in opens at 6:00am
    • Take advantage of the on site hydration station, get a last minute bike adjustment from a bike shop, drop off your overnight luggage and enjoy breakfast, served from 6:00am-7:30am.
    • SAG Mom Linda will be on site to collect last minute items like flip-flops and sunglass cases, then will transport them to the finish line in Daytona
    • 7:00am TEAM PHOTO – Meet under the big tent for our “official” Team Photo 
    • Line up with the rest of team right after the photo and plan to take off with the group just after the 7:30am start! 
    • Support at REST STOP #2
      • Look for Carrie Bailey and her wonderful daughter when approaching Rest stop 2 – they’ll be on site to take photos and to collect any “peel-off” clothing you’d like transported to the finish line (they’ll have ziplock bags ready to label)

  • Team Tent:
    • Our amazing volunteers & sponsors have worked hard to make this year’s Team Tent amazing, as always. After you finish riding, plan to hang out in our LUAU THEMED Team Tent and enjoy…
      • KEG FOOT BATHS! 
      • COUCHES!
  • Team Photo:
    • Be at our tent at 4:30pm for our TEAM PHOTO! Bring your smiles, a beer and your best luau wear!
  • Meals:
    • TACO BAR thanks to Gnarly Barley, plus snacks and something sweet from other sponsors.
    • If you need second lunch, Firehouse subs will be served by the NMSS 
    • NEW THIS YEAR! Dinner will be served outside in Team Tent Village, followed by the awards ceremony and LIVE MUSIC in the bandshell! 
  • Beer!!!!
    • All riders receive 3 pints (except TLH… we don’t count for you *shhhhh*)
    • Guest beer wristbands can be purchased at the Team Tent Village entrance 
    • Don’t forget your ID! Even if you haven’t been 21 in decades…. NO ID = NO BEER (even if we know you)
    • We reserve the right to cut anyone off at anytime if necessary. So please behave : ) 
  • After Party!
    • That’s right, the party continues this year. No more ballroom! We’ll enjoy dinner, awards and live music outside in Team Tent Village until 8:30pm. 


  • Breakfast is served from 5:30am-7:30am in Team Tent Village.
  • Line up and opening ceremonies are from 7:00am-7:30am, riders begin departing in waves every 5 minutes starting at 7:30am. 


  • Celebrate your amazing accomplishment at the finish line in TPC Sawgrass! Enjoy Bubba Burgers, more Left Hand beer, and cheering on your fellow teammates and riders as they finish the weekend strong! 

FAQ’s : 

  • Can my friends and family eat with me? 
    • Absolutely! NMSS meal wristbands for non-cyclists will be available for purchase at all check-ins before the event and at customer service during the event. Weekend wristbands can be purchased for $20. Note: while we love to share, the taco bar from Gnarly Barley is only for our registered cyclists and volunteers. Friends and family can enjoy food provided by the NMSS with appropriate wristbands.
  • Can someone else pick up my packet at check in? 
    • Absolutely, as long as you have met your $250 fundraising minimum.
  • What time to one-day shuttles leave? 
    • Marineland – 2:00pm and 8:30pm from the Hilton Daytona Beach Resort
    • TPC Sawgrass – 4:30pm and 8:30pm from the Hilton Daytona Beach Resort
    • Participants must request a shuttle seat upon registration. If you have not reserved a shuttle seat you can add your name to the first come, first serve waiting list at the Bike MS customer service desk at the entrance to team village in Daytona Beach on Saturday. Available seats are $20 and are LIMITED.
  • What is in my rider packet? 
    • Rider packets include – luggage tag, rider number, bike number and a wristband. All are important for the weekend, so don’t lose them!
  • How do I get my overnight luggage to the finish line in Daytona? 
    • Upon checking in for the ride you’ll receive a luggage tag – Each cyclist is only allowed to put one small carry-on size bag on the luggage truck. You’ll drop your bag (with your luggage tag on it) Saturday morning at the luggage truck near the starting line. We recommend using a bag that will stand out among the rest (e.g. – not a black duffle bag).
